McDermott Senior Authority / Regulatory Compliance Engineer in The Hague, Netherlands
Job Overview:
As Senior Authority/Regulatory Compliance Engineer you will be accountable for ensuring compliance to country specific regulatory requirements and development of certification schemes for our Energy Transition projects in Europe. You will bring your experience in certification compliance schemes and understanding of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). You have a high level of understanding of relevant certifications and compliance schemes required for final acceptance of energy sector projects. You will work closely with our Engineering team, Quality, Inspection and Fabrication Yards.
The Senior Authority/Regulatory Compliance Engineer contributes very efficiently to all kinds of Authority related activities for projects, proposals, estimates and/or work improvement programs. The Authority/Regulatory Compliance Engineer has a managing and leading task and must be able to work independently for small and large projects.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Advise project members on authority requirements
Provide regulatory compliance requirements during RFQ/TBE stage
Prepare and maintain certification matrix master file
Coordinate with disciplines to obtain all required information to obtain authority approvals
Focal point for the regulatory compliance agencies and coordination of their visits for inspections / surveillance in conjunction with Inspection & quality team
Coordinate with Clients, Sellers and Authorities
Maintain logs and information required for regulatory compliance
Provide inputs to fabrication team and subcontractors on regulatory compliance requirements
Review drawings and documents from the sellers in relation to authority requirements
Issue MR & Scope of work for engaging Third parties related to certifications
Follow up in the yards on the certification work & coordinate with all parties involved
Apply all HSE requirements in the execution of the work
Keep informed regarding latest developments in authority requirements
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or in another relevant engineering discipline
Minimum 10 years of experience working as Authority/Regulatory Compliance coordinator for projects within the Energy industry in Europe
Engineering capabilities for complex multi-office project execution
EPC(m) project experience in the Netherlands and other European countries
Experience with International, European and Dutch rules and regulations related to regulatory compliance
Dutch language is a plus
Good English writing/speaking skills
Budget/Quality/Schedule conscious
Good communication skills with all stakeholders involved in the role
Experience communicating with Clients and Certified bodies
