Massage Therapist Job Description

Position Summary

The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing the industry's best therapeutic massages in a professional and inviting environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer quality, therapeutic bodywork that meets clients' needs within scope of practice and licensing guidelines as applicable in our state.
• Be courteous and professional with all clients. Greet clients with a smile and engage with them during their massage to ensure they're comfortable
• Gather information to create and educate clients on treatment plans
• Customize massage services within required policies, protocols, and approved modalities to craft truly personalized sessions.
• Complete customer file and maintain accurate and effective SOAP notes. Following the session, debrief with the client and make recommendations for a return visit
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning and disinfecting all areas as they are used by members, guests and yourself. 
• Assist with turnover of treatment rooms when necessary, folding of spa laundry, etc.
• Safeguard the client experience by maintaining client confidentiality and upholding the commitment to safety.
• Protect our workplace culture by recognizing and supporting team goals and building positive relationships with team members
• Attend all team meetings and training sessions
• Maintain licensure, CEU requirements and current liability insurance
• Comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations and Sandstone's privacy practices (mandatory HIPAA training provided).

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill room resetting tasks and all massage service protocols. Requires grasping, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
