SUMMARY

The Quality Manager works with manufacturing, engineering, external suppliers, purchasing, and the vehicle customer while exhibiting a professional and cooperative attitude. The primary mission of the Quality Manager is to support the launch and approval of new and existing products. Quality Manager will work directly with manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing teams to assess conformance of product, manufacturing capability and technical ability, communicate and resolve issues of quality through new product/part launches.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Support housekeeping and safety.

  • Manage new product development quality processes pertaining to all stages of the product roll out.

  • This position focuses on product quality of JLG manufactured construction and agricultural equipment. Although, much of this focus is rooted in customer quality, it also includes responsibility to improve product and process quality in all aspects of the product life-cycle as well as in all business processes that create the product.

  • Audit new and existing APQP processes, DFMEA, PFMEA, and CTQ. Propose corrective actions and opportunities for improvement. Follow up on open corrective actions and guide NPD team improvements.

  • Participate in reviews with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier teams to review processes, drawings, and technical requirements.

  • Assign Supplier Corrective Action Requests and guide supplier team through corrective action process for assembly process and customer failures.

  • Manage, coach, and develop 1-5 advanced quality engineer/inspector direct reports.

  • Support cross functional process and product improvement teams.

  • Review drawings and supplier change requests and verify appropriate quality requirements are met.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree

5 plus years of related work experience

Ability to interpret basic technical drawings including characteristics such as views, title blocks, dimensioning, GD&T symbols, etc. Interpret specification requirements in relation to product and process characteristics

Comprehension and experience with specific automotive industry manufacturing processes.

APQP/PPAP and 8D problem solving tools.

Project Management Experience
