Substation Design Engineer

Client is seeking an experienced Substation Design Engineer to join our team in Hamilton, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for creating critical design deliverables for substation projects, including general arrangement plans, section views, equipment layouts, grounding plans, and bills of material.

Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive substation electrical design packages, including general arrangement plans, section views, lightning shielding plans, grounding designs, and conduit/raceway layouts

• Create detailed bills of material for substation equipment and materials

• Incorporate vendor information into design deliverables as needed

• Perform site walkdowns at client facilities to gather data and requirements

• Coordinate with clients such as PSEG, FirstEnergy, ACE, Con Ed, PPL, and JCP&L on design needs

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in physical substation design

• Proficiency in creating section views (elevations) and detailed bills of material

• Expert skills with AutoCAD and MicroStation for 2D drafting and 3D modeling

• Ability to visualize parts and assemblies in 3D without computer aid

• Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for technical plans and models

• Prior experience supporting one or more of the listed utility clients
